You can apply for as many scholarships as you qualify for but can only be awarded one.
If you have been awarded a scholarship the previous year, you may apply again, but - as our scholarships are limited - please be aware that new applicants may be considered first.
All scholarships last one year.
Scholarships awarded by merit as per board assessment and there is no specific deadline.
Scholarships that have closed will be noted as closed.
Scholarship applicants do not have to be creating comics, manga, or graphic novels focused on the subject of their scholarship.
Scholarships are only available for creatives currently residing in New Zealand.
Scholarships apply to the following Membership levels:
Junior Membership
For ages 16 and 17
Student/CC Membership
For ages 18+ with Community Card OR Full time student status at university OR Full time workforce development program enrollment
Full Membership
For ages 18+
Professional Membership
For ages 18+ that desire professional-level benefits

Hardship (open)
1 Hardship scholarship open per year
This scholarship is for individuals experiencing a significant financial hardship.
Disability (open)
1 Disability scholarship open per year
This scholarship is for individuals with a chronic or long-term disability (ICCA may request a note from your GP or proof of disability acceptance from WINZ.
Rainbow (open)
1 Rainbow scholarship open per year
This scholarship is for individuals (excluding allies) who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Tangata Whenua/Māori (open)
2 Tangata Whenua/Māori scholarships open per year
To honor our Tangata Whenua we offer 2 scholarships specifically for Māori creatives.
Pacefika Heritage (open)
1 Pacefika Heritage scholarship open per year
This scholarship is for our Pacefika cousins.
