About Indie Comic Creators of Aotearoa

Indie Comic Creators of Aotearoa Trust is a New Zealand registered charitable foundation created for the sole purpose of supporting the development, education, and promotion of independent comic creators to advance New Zealand's comic art culture.

The work to bring the Indie Comic Creators of Aotearoa Trust began in 2025 when Chanteé - a comics writer and creator - birthed the idea. After pulling in Founding Trust Board collaborators and fellow comic creatives Del Hahn (artist, writer) and Susan Rugg (artist), the trio set out to create an organization that would help comics in Aotearoa New Zealand reach new heights and new audiences.

Founding Trustees

Chanteé

Ko toku ingoa Chanteé ahau. Ko ngā Ko Amerika Pākehā ahau. Ko te Virginia ahau.

Chanteé is a published author of short speculative fiction, comic writer and creator, and 2015 Stan Lee Foundation Featured Artist.

Del

Del Hahn writes and draws comics for a middle grade audience. They are a storyboard artist for Mukpuddy Animation and have upcoming graphic novels, FAST BREAK published by FSG/Macmillan and THE NIGHT FOX published by Top Shelf Productions.

Susan

Susan Rugg is a Kiwi comic creator who has been integral in the Auckland, NZ comic scene. Susan created the Drawfest Comics event and also runs the Drawfest events in the Auckland area.
